In Enshrouded, terraforming allows you to shape the world according to your creativity and requirements. It involves adding or removing terrain to craft a distinctive and practical landscape. Here's how you can master this aspect of gameplay.

Terraform
The most important tools to start terraforming are the rake, the pickaxe, and the construction hammer. You can easily craft them at the crafting bench using basic materials. Remember, you can only shape the land around your flame altar. To upgrade this area, access the flame altar menu.
Rake (6 wood logs, 2 string, 2 stone):
To ensure flat surfaces for your builds, you'll need the rake. Simply select the rake from your inventory and then hold down the left mouse button to level out any uneven terrain, making it perfect for your building projects.
Using a rake allows you to build roads and flatten extensive areas of terrain for farming. It's essential for creating an organized base.

Basic Pickaxe (1 stone, 4 twigs, 1 string):
The Pickaxe is crucial for digging, creating holes for buildings, and mining resources. As you progress with the blacksmith, you'll be able to craft more advanced pickaxes.
The pickaxe will allow you to both modify the terrain and gather valuable materials for construction. To do this, simply head to an area abundant with the material you wish to obtain and press the left mouse button to mine it. This way, you can acquire stone and dirt, among other resources.

Construction Hammer (1 stone):
The construction hammer enables you to build walls, roofs, and blocks using various materials. Additionally, it also allows you to modify the terrain.
Press [TAB] with the construction hammer in hand, then press ALT and navigate to the "Terrain" section. Once there, the construction hammer not only allows you to add large chunks of terrain but also enables you to remove them. Choose the size of the block you want to build.
If you left click, you can construct a block of the material shown on the right side of the screen. However, if you right-click, you will remove a chunk of terrain the size of the selected block.
Construction Hammer
To start filling holes, you'll need the rake and the construction hammer. Additionally, you'll need to get Dirt Blocks to fill the hole. You can obtain them by using the pickaxe on a dirt surface or by directly extracting them from roads. Try to extract them outside the area of your flame altar because the terrain will reset over time.
To fill a hole in Enshrouded, place a dirt block inside using the Construction Hammer, then use the rake to flatten the terrain.
Fill Hole
Depending on the depth of the hole, you may need to use more than one dirt block. To place these blocks, with the Construction Hammer equipped, press [TAB], then ALT, and find the "Terrain" section. Choose the block that best fits the hole's dimensions. To use the rake, simply aim at the edge of the hole and hold the left click. This will flatten it to the ground level.
